KEVIN THELWELL, Wolverhampton Wanderers Head of Football Development and Recruitment will be the main guest speaker at a major football industry event at Molineux.

The Football Industry Networking day on 20th March, 2014 is the latest in a successful nationwide series organised by footballtradedirectory.com – the UK’s largest on-line football directory.

Previous events have been held at the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Sheffield Wednesday, Watford, London, Birmingham City, Blackburn, Notts County and Huddersfield Town.

Recent speakers have included England, West Brom and Man United legend, Bryan Robson, West Ham Assistant boss Neil McDonald, Ex Birmingham City player, Everton Physio and award winning author Mick Rathbone, and Unsung BBC personality of the Year Lance Haggith of SportsTraider fame.

Speaking about the news, FTD’s John Booth said: “It’s an honour to have Kevin as the main speaker. He has a wealth of football knowledge both at grass-roots and in the pro game and his theme on the role of ‘Head of Football’ in the modern game of will be a very timely one.

“This event, as always, is open to anyone involved in football at whatever level. There are particular themes at the event and as well as Kevin’s fund raising for grass roots football is high on the list. Exhibitors like the Co-Operative Bank, BetBright, SportsTraider, General & Medical Insurance and Sondico Teamwear all have schemes aimed at helping cash starved clubs improve their finances.

“With many League and Non-League clubs struggling, not just with the weather, but increased costs of pitch hire, kit and insurance and less money coming in we hope delegates find something that will help them.

“With over 30 exhibitors, the Stan Cullis Stand will be a hive of activity and as well as the fund raising theme, there will be a range of kit and equipment suppliers offering great deals..”

The event is free to attend as a delegate – simply email [email protected] or call 0843 507 9000 to book a place.

Doors open at 11.00am, there is free parking and refreshments, with the event closing at approx. 3.30 pm.
