Bideford’s future secure after winding-up petition dropped

SOUTHERN Premier side Bideford have been saved after the winding-up petition against the club was dropped.

The Robins were served with the petition by HMRC back in March over unpaid tax and a hearing at the High Court on Monday was adjourned for two weeks.

However, it only took the club two days to come to an agreement with HMRC over a payment plan and the petition has now been dropped.

A club statement read: “Since the High Court adjournment on Monday, the club has been in continual talks with the HMRC and it can be confirmed that an agreement has now been made with them, the result being the formal end to the existing winding up order.

“The directors are now keen to have total focus on the season ahead and specifically activities on the pitch, including the upcoming friendlies and the start of the new league season in August.

“They urge all Biddy fans to get behind the Robins and give their usual passionate support for the first team, and all other teams within the club.”
