HALESOWEN TOWN are hoping to raise funds for goalkeeper Daniel Platt after he lost four teeth in a collision during the club’s game against Tividale.

Platt came rushing out of his area to head the ball away during the Yeltz’s friendly with their local rivals on Saturday, August 8.

Unfortunately for the stopper, he clashed heads with Dale forward Joel Ayettey and led him to losing four teeth and needing a visit to A&E.

The club have now set up an online donation page named ‘Put a smile on Platty’ with a goal of £3,000 to help cover dental costs which will come to around £6,000.

“Since the football club’s and most sports injury insurance does not cover dental work Dan has been left with a huge bill of over £6,000 to pay for reconstruction of his front four teeth,” the club said.

“The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) are covering half the cost but it still leaves £3,000 to be raised.

“Fans and players want to help cover the remaining cost of the dental work and help put a smile back on Platty.

“Please contribute as much as you can and leave a message for Dan and Halesowen Town FC. All the funds from this appeal will go directly to Dan from this fundraising appeal.”
