GRAHAM NICHOLAS has been sacked as manager of struggling Ossett Town after just over three months at the club.

Nicholas left Northern Counties East League side Garforth Town to take the reins at Ossett in early November, replacing John Reed.

After drawing his first league game in charge against Brighouse Town, Ossett have gone on to lose their following eight matches to leave them third bottom of the table and just two points clear of Harrogate Railway Athletic.

Two victories in the Doodson League Cup against Goole AFC and Spennymoor Town weren’t enough to save Nicholas’ job and he was dismissed on Thursday.

Reserve team and U19s manager John Francis will take charge of Saturday’s home game against Radcliffe Borough as well as Tuesday’s League Cup tie against Darlington 1883.

Chairman James Rogers said: “It’s very unfortunate that things haven’t worked out under Graham’s leadership. I’d like to thank Graham for all his efforts and wish him the very best for the future.”
