THE winding-up petition brought against Dorchester Town by Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs has been dismissed.

The Magpies were in court on Monday to hear the petition, which was thrown out after it was discovered an administrative error had been made.

A statement on the Blue Square Bet South club’s website confirmed: “Early on Monday morning it was established the winding up petition was presented by HMRC, despite the club being up to date with PAYE and VAT payments.

“In court the barrister for HMRC requested the petition be dismissed and Registrar Jones agreed to this. As suspected it appears to have been an administrative error from HMRC.”
