EX-KIDSGROVE Athletic boss Peter Ward is back in management, taking over struggling Loughborough Dynamo alongside Andy Kinsey.

Former Lancaster City, Nantwich Town and Newcastle Town manager Ward was most recently at Kidsgrove but ended his third spell in charge of the club in September after a slow start to the season.

Ward will be joined in the Dynamo dugout by 38-year-old former Kidsgrove Athletic, Leek Town, Newcastle Town, Nantwich Town and Witton Albion striker Kinsey.

The pair have a difficult job on their hands, taking over a Dynamo side who fell to the bottom of the table following their Boxing Day draw with Gresley.

Ward and Kinsey replace Wayne Hallcro, who departed the club two weeks ago after a wretched run of 15 defeats in 16 league matches.

Despite their poor form, Dynamo are just three points adrift of safety in the Evo-Stik NPL South and the club’s new managerial duo will take charge of their first game on Thursday as they travel to Bedworth United.

Ward told the Loughborough Echo: “I appreciate the difficult position the club is in within the division, and it’s going to be a battle, but I’m really looking forward to getting started with Dynamo.

“Andy will be sharing the managerial duties with me, and he will also be registered as a player. He is very good as a front man, particularly at holding the ball and bringing other players into the game.

“We’re both looking forward to working with club captain Chris Gray. I know Chris well, he’s very experienced and we’ve worked together before. Andy, Chris and I are all positive minded people.”
