Southport assistant manager John Dreyer has left the club after not being able to fully commit to the role from his southern home.
The former Maidenhead United manager leaves just 62 days after joining to work under his former Preston North End clubmate Kevin Davies.
Dreyer said: “After on-going discussions, it is with much regret that I relinquish my position as Assistant Manager at Southport FC.
“I felt that being based down South I couldn’t give Kev the necessary support that is required. I wish everyone every success and I am very confident that results will soon come good.”
The Sandgrounders are 19th in the National League North, just a point above the relegation zone, and are yet to win under Davies.
Southport say they are looking to fill the void left by Dreyer as quickly as possible.
