Tranmere Rovers continued their climb up the table and made it five consecutive league wins by thumping lowly Guiseley.
Rovers are now sixth after a sterling second half performance that saw a brace from Connor Jennings sandwiched in-between strikes from James Norwood and Andy Cook.
League leaders Macclesfield Town had to play 30 minutes of the second half without goalkeeper Shwan Jalal, who was sent off. Nonetheless, they hung on to extend their lead to six points edging out Sutton United thanks to Danny Whitaker’s early penalty.
Aldershot Town moved into second after rescuing a point in added time at home to Maidstone United while Boreham Wood returned to the top seven with a win over struggling Torquay United.
Rock-bottom Solihull Moors ended their year on a high, winning at Barrow as Bromley ended Leyton Orient‘s mini rival by winning at Brisbane Road.
AFC Fylde came from behind to win at Maidenhead and Woking almost did the same with ten men at Eastleigh, but conceded an injury time equaliser.
Mason Bloomfield struck a late leveller at Ebbsfleet United to get Dagenham & Redbridge a point.
