Torquay manager Gary Owers reacts to Monday’s incident filled match.

Torquay United manager Gary Owers has expressed his frustration after a cup of coffee was thrown at him by a disgruntled fan during Monday’s 0-0 draw at Gloucester City.
Speaking to Devon Live, the Gulls boss said, “I am proud of my football background, what I’ve done in this game and where I’ve been, and I am also proud to be manager of this football club.
“But I will be 50 in a couple of weeks, and you don’t expect to be walking off a football pitch and have a cup of red-hot coffee thrown in your face.
“It shouldn’t happen whatever the circumstances are, and it’s got no place in the game.”
The match was also halted for several minutes as a number of visiting supporters threw flares onto the playing field.
Monday’s result left Owers’ in 13th place in the National League South table, with the Gulls having achieved two wins, three draws and two losses during there first seven games of the campaign. The stalemate also extended The Gulls’ goalless streak to almost 400 minutes.
