Potters Bar Town face race against time to avoid relegation

The future of Bostik Premier club remains in doubt, with the Hertfordshire based side reportedly facing the threat of an automatic relegation.
The Scholars have been told that they must build two new stands, which will accommodate 200 fans, by the end of March in order to maintain their Step 3 status.
The club have set up a Go-Fund me page, which aims to bring in £5000 in donations to contribute to the essential ground upgrading work.
Potters Bar stormed to promotion from the Bostik North last season and have adapted quickly to life at Step 3 level this season, with the Scholars currently sitting comfortably above the drop zone in 15th place.
Speaking to the Welwyn Hatfield Times, Potters Bar Chairman Peter Waller said: “Our greatest achievement in my 50 years with the club was gaining promotion.
“That is being threatened by the possibility of immediate relegation.
“This will have a devastating effect on the club, our players, supporters and the town.
“Today, as a community club, it is not just about , we all contribute to the good health and comfort of those watching.
“We are doing everything to raise funds, but as time is so short, we need to ask for help.
“Please support us if you can and thank you.”
