Gloucester City have moved into the transfer market ahead of the new National League North season by signing experienced striker Marlon Jackson.
The 28-year-old front man spent the latter part of last season with Weston-Super-Mare, where he found the net an impressive 10 times in 14 games as the Seagulls ultimately failed in their bid to remain at Step Two level.
Jackson, who has been capped at England C level, began his career by coming through the youth ranks at Bristol City, before going on to have spells with the likes of Bury, Oxford City and Newport County.
After signing on the dotted line for the Tigers, Jackson told the club’s official website, “I’m really excited to join Gloucester and get to work. I’ve been really impressed with the ambition showed by the club. It’s one that matches my own and I can’t wait for the season to start!”
Gloucester finished last season above the relegation zone in 17th position in the National League South.
It was confirmed at the weekend that they would be moved to the National League North for next season.
