ALFRETON TOWN have sold towering frontman Tom Denton to Worksop Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 6ft 5in striker joined Alfreton on a two-year deal in August 2012 following spells with Wakefield, Huddersfield and Mossley.

However, he failed to secure a regular place in the Reds’ squad and was sent to Worksop on a one-month loan in September.

Denton netted six goals in five games during that initial month and subsequently had his stay with the Tigers extended by a further two months.

The 25-year-old was recalled by Alfreton at the end of November having scored 11 times in 11 fixtures for the Tigers but has now made a permanent switch to Sandy Lane.
