A POTENTIAL banana skin did not materialise on this occasion as Enfeld Town hit two early goals to pave the way for their passage into the fourth round qualifying.
Mario Noto’s cross-cumshot sailed over keeper Steve Phillips in the seventh minute and there was clear daylight between the two teams after Simon Thomas backheeled over the line.
Phoenix never really recovered from this double blow and Aaron Greene, Ryan Blackman and Ryan Blake could have all added to the tally before the break.
