AVENUE continue to defy the odds and cemented themselves as serious play-off contenders with a deserved victory over high-flying Brackley Town. The opening half hour could hardly be described as a classic, but it was the home side that sprung into life. The first real chance of the afternoon fell to the hosts, as Oli Johnson’s cut-back fell just a yard short of reaching the advancing Wayne Brooksby at the back post.
