BATH City struck twice in the closing stages to see off Hemel Hempstead Town and maintain their hold on second place.
Seconds into the contest, outrushing Bath keeper Ryan Clarke allowed the ball through his arms, but Alex Hartridge was on hand to hack clear.
Joe Raynes scooped a left-footed effort into the arms of Sam Beasant and Tom Smith brushed the side netting from 20 yards for the Romans.
At the other end, Connor Essam looped a header wide. Midfielder Frankie Artus was then frustrated when he nodded in from close range, only for the referee to blow up for a foul.
