SUBSTITUTE Simeon Maye earned Brackley a point soon after coming off the bench, scoring an equaliser to deny Darlington a first victory in five games.
Neither team came into the contest in top form, Darlington without a win in four and Brackley having won one of their previous five fixtures.
So perhaps it was no surprise the first half was largely lacking in goalmouth incident and the challenging conditions did not help.
