ROBINS REFUSE TO BE ASSURED

ILKESTON Town say they stand by their decision to withdraw from the FA Trophy – even though they were given safety assurances from opponents AFC Rushden & Diamonds. The Robins refused to make the trip to Hayden Road on ‘health and safety grounds’ after AFC Rushden revealed a first-team player had undergone a positive Covid test in the week.
Rushden released a statement reassuring their visitors that all necessary checks and safety procedures had been put in place but Ilkeston still refused to fulfil the fixture, thus handing Rushden a walkover to the first round proper...
