Cheadle Town: Chris Davies created a global success

Chris Davies took his team (touring as Manchester AFC) to play in front of 65,000 at the Aztec Stadium, Mexico and then led them to become the first English team ever to play in Cuba

ONE night in December 1960, Chris Davies was on his way to his home on Grasmere Avenue in Stockport. As had happened several times previously, the Stockbrokers clerk stopped to chat with youngsters that played football nearby.
