JACK TURNER has told of pride at playing for Slough Town after ending his four “amazing years” at the club.

The former AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper is to leave the National League South Rebels this summer to seek pastures new after relocating to the south coast.

In a heartfelt Twitter message to Rebels fans, Turner said: “All good things must come to an end and sadly my time at Slough has ended after four amazing years.

“Playing in every minute of every game since I arrived, time for something new in the football world.

“I can’t thank Bakes and Unders (joint bosses Neil Baker and Jon Underwood) enough for what they have done for me on the pitch and especially off the pitch.

“We had a plan when I signed and we 100 per cent done that – and more, so job done.

“To the fans singing my name home and away, it’s been an amazing pleasure to have played for you and your amazing club.

“I’m very grateful to have played a part in getting the club a step closer to where it belongs and I will miss you all. I’m sure I’ll be down to watch soon but until then, all the best #alltherebels.”

A club statement read: “Jack has been with us for four years and has been a fantastic servant to the club. However, with his move to Hayling Island last summer, it was felt that a new and fresh challenge was needed for him.

“Wherever Jack ends up, they will gain an excellent keeper and we wish him and his family the best for the future.”

Meanwhile, midfielder Sam Togwell has hung up his boots at the age of 36.

The former Scunthorpe United, Barnsley and Chesterfield player has been with the club for the past three seasons having joined to play alongside his brother Lee.
