Dale Gorman targets promotion with Yeovil Town

Yeovil Town

NEW Yeovil Town midfielder Dale Gorman says promotion to the EFL this season must be the target for the Glovers.

Gorman, 26, arrives on undisclosed terms from Irish side Glentoran but has a wealth of experience in England.

As a youngster, he made 62 appearances for Stevenage, then managed by current Yeovil boss Darren Sarll.

The former Northern Ireland Under-21 man then joined Leyton Orient and was part of the side that clinched the National League title under Justin Edinburgh in 2018-19.

“I’m delighted to get everything sealed and finalised,” said Gorman, who tends to play in a holding midfield role. “I’ll give everything I have for Yeovil and do everything I can to win matches for this football club.

“Our ambition has to be promotion. You look at the size of the football club and not many would expect us to be here. We’ll give it a good go this year to try and get back where we should be.”

Meanwhile, Sarll is eyeing a positive pre-season, saying: “I just want to get those good habits ingrained into this new group, because there are only six or seven that are still here from last year.”
