FREDDIE ON FIRE AGAIN IN CUP WIN

CITY of Liverpool progressed after a committed performance produced a deserved, but narrow win over Clitheroe.
The Lancashire visitors edged the first half and struck a post twice through star player Sefton Gonzales, with the Purps relieved to get in level at the interval.
In the second half the hosts were much the better side.
They took the lead after 55 minutes when substitute Ben Rydel put a delightful ball across the face of goal for man of the moment Freddie Potter to fire home.
