MORPETH swept into the next round with a crushing win over Hyde United at Craik Park.
It proved a chastening afternoon for Jim Gannon on his Tigers managerial debut, as Sean Taylor’s 33-minute hat-trick put the hosts 3-0 up by half-time and in total control over a shell-shocked United who looked vulnerable down the middle of their defence.
Hyde threatened a comeback of sorts when Liam Hardy guided a 49th-minute near-post header home, his seventh of the campaign.
