Pope is Seagulls’ saviour

JASON Pope’s equaliser ensured that the tie will head to a replay.
Nick McCootie and Dayle Grubb both failed to hit the target early on, before Simeon Weekes forced Luke Purnell into a save.
The visitors were the first to break the deadlock when a throw-in wasn’t dealt with by the Seagulls, the ball falling to Adam Thomas 18 yards out and his first-time strike nestled into the net via the post.
Grubb and Lucas Vowles then had chances to get back into the game, but both fired wide as the Seagulls tried to ramp up the pressure.
