■ HERNE BAY went top of the table after second-half goals from JJ Naiwo and Zac Ansah dampened Phoenix’s fire .
It was a pretty mundane first half with the home side looking the more likely to break the deadlock, with Sports relying on the long ball over the top.
Things brightened up after the interval. Chinedu McKenzie robbed the visitors’ midfield putting Naiwo through to slot under the diving custodian to put the hosts deservedly in front.
