THIS all-Northern League affair between two former Vase winners went right down to the wire with the teams unable to be separated after a goalless 90 minutes.
The main incident occurred when referee Michael Webster sent off Whickham’s Dale Burrell after the striker had collided with the man in the middle.After consultation with his linesman the red card was overturned, the referee soon having to be replaced after receiving treatment for whiplash sustained in the incident.
