■ GAINSBROUGH picked up their first away league win of the season when two breakaway goals secured the points at Giant Axe.
Lancaster were left to rue a number of missed opportunities in the opening 20 minutes, when they had much the better of the play, after this spell they struggled to create opportunities.
Andy Teague twice failed to hit the target with headers whilst Tom Kilifin had a header and a shot saved as Lancaster looked to gain the upper hand.
