STEVE Cunningham says he couldn’t turn down the opportunity to join Buxton despite dropping down to return to the Northern Premier League.
The former Colne manager had worked his way up into the National League North with Curzon Ashton where they were enjoying a strong start to the season.
But Cunningham and his assistant Damien Crossley were axed a fortnight ago after they spoke to AFC Telford United out of “professional curiosity” without Curzon’s permission.
