Kidsgrove Athletic 2-1 City of Liverpool: Johnston strike wins it for hosts

■ JOHN Johnston’s goal just nine minutes from time was enough to see Kidsgrove take all three points.
A long ball forward was flicked on to Kieran Brown by Anthony Malbon, he laid the ball off to Johnston who bent the ball past Danny Taberner.
Kidsgrove had taken the lead just before the break when Oli Hickman whipped a lovely cross to the back post, where Callum Lovatt was waiting to head home his first goal for the Grove.
City of Liverpool broke the Grove’s resistance after 66 minutes when Jack Hazlehurst was able to turn in the area to fire past Ryan Brown.
