DEADLY Declan McManus shot down reigning champions Connah’s Quay Nomads to keep The New Saints riding high at the top of the JD Cymru Premier League. The Scottish striker took his league tally to 18 to maintain the host’s vice-like grip on top spot.
With second-placed Newtown held 1-1 at home by Haverfordwest County, their lead grew to 14 points.
The Nomads arrived on an 11-match-unbeaten run but were no match for the champions elect.
