GATESHEAD edged a seven-goal thriller to boost their title challenge as rivals Brackley registered their 14th 1-0 win of the campaign to stay one point ahead of the Heed.
Player-boss Mike Williamson made a rare appearance and saw his side race into a two-goal lead.
