NORTH Shields edged past Yorkshire visitors Knaresborough Town, whose manager was sent off after the game
Shields opened up a twogoal lead in the first half but the visitors set up a nervy finale when they pulled a goal back 13 minutes from time.
Paul Van-Zandvliet’s strike from the edge of the box through a crowed penalty deceived Town keeper Tommy Brown.
Brad Hird soon doubled the Robins lead from close range, Brad Walker just wide at the other end.
