SEVERELY de- pleted Skelmersdale United side welcomed Prescot Cables for this preliminary round tie played at their temporary home at Burscough FC.
With four enforced changes in the Skelmersdale ranks, Prescot started the game in the ascendency.
They put in a near perfect first-half performance to take a 3-0 half-time lead with a brace from John Murphy following their first goal from Kyle Sambor.
