EVERGREEN Saffron Walden Town co-boss Terry Spillane believes the introduction of traditional four-team play-offs at Step 5 in the coming campaign will be a game-changer.
Of late, only the champions of the 16 Step 5 divisions have been guaranteed promotion, while the runners-up have had to play an Inter-Step play-off with a team from Step 4.
Now, there will be four-team play-offs in each of the 16 Step 5 divisions, thus guaranteeing a second promotion place from Step 5 to Step 4.
