AVELEY fended off the brave challenge of Hungerford Town following a dramatic marathon penalty shoot-out.
Baboucarr Jarra handed the Southern Premier South sidea shock first-half lead, only for Joseph Gbode to level for the National League South high-flyers.
Hungerford led a tense shootout 3-1 at one stage but three crucial saves from experienced Aveley keeper Jonathan North saw the Millers through.
