George Elokobi has been rewarded for lead Maidstone United to their best ever FA Cup run by being awarded a new contract.

Elokobi guided the Stones through seven ties – including victories over EFL sides Barrow, Stevenage and Ipswich Town –  to reach the fifth round of the competition before bowing out at Coventry City.

And with six weeks of the season remaining, his side are also in hunt for promotion in National League South at the first time of asking as they battle for a place in the play-offs.

On extending his current deal until the end of the 2025/26 season, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers said: “I’m extremely pleased to carry on the work we’ve been doing at Maidstone United Football Club.

“The project continues and I’m delighted to have signed a contract extension.”
