ROBERTS IS DIFFERENCE MAKER FOR THE SAINTS

SOUTH SHIELDS’ promotion chances were dealt a blow as a wonderful Martin Roberts goal earned Brackley Town all three points late on.
Elliott Dickman’s side were hoping to bounce back from a third defeat in five games, after a 3-1 loss away at King’s Lynn Town last time out.
But the first half offered little in quality, with Town going closest through Danny Newton in the 34th minute, his shot parried by Myles Boney before Connor Hall’s effort was blocked following great link-up play between the two.
