Ross Jenkins makes shock Boreham Wood exit

Boreham Wood have parted company with Head Coach Ross Jenkins after just 121 days in charge.

Boreham Wood have parted company with Head Coach Ross Jenkins after just 121 days in charge.

The former Oxford City boss replaced Luke Garrard in May this year. Garrard had spent nearly nine years at the helm, which ended on a sour note with relegation to National League South.

Jenkins had led Oxford to that level in 2023, but they suffered relegation alongside Wood in April, with him resigning soon afterwards to switch to the fellow Step 2 outfit.

They started the season with three wins and a draw, which saw them go top after a 3-0 win over Weymouth on 24 August.

Jenkins is the first manager to lose his job in the division this season and leaves Wood in 10th spot, ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round tie at division rivals Eastbourne Borough.

The club released a statement on their official website:

“Boreham Wood Football Club can confirm that the Club has parted company with Head Coach Ross Jenkins with immediate effect.

“Everyone at the Club would like to thank Ross for his efforts during his time at Meadow Park and wish him the best of luck for the future.”

There has been no confirmation over who will oversee the team this weekend.
