VISITORS Stamford kept up their early-season streak of form to edge fellow high-fliers Alvechurch at Lye Meadow.
In the battle between the division’s leading two prior to kick-off, it was the hosts who had the brighter of the early proceedings, Tyrone Barnett floating Omari Sterling-James’ sixth-minute centre off target with a header, while the latter troubled Stamford’s goal with another cross that would strike the woodwork.
