A DRAMATIC late strike by Tyrique Clarke secured Poole their first home victory in almost four months and secured the double over Basingstoke.
The first half was a fairly even encounter with limited chances.
Basingstoke looked the more likely to score although the best chance fell to Poole.
Against the run of play after 16 minutes, Tom Hewlett broke down the right and crossed the ball perfectly for Rafa Ramos for what looked like a simple tap in, but he sliced the ball wide.
