A SCRAPPY, goalless draw took place at the Sir Halley Stewart Field - a point that does not help either side with their end-of-season ambitions.
James Clifton headed over on 16 minutes for Spalding in what was a rare effort towards goal for either side in the first half.
Ben Weyman tried to respond soon after with Royston’s first attack but could only shoot wide. Glenn Walker’s cross into the area was nodded wide by Bart Cybulksi to end what was a dour first period.
Things did not get much better after the half-time oranges...
