■ A late penalty scored by Calvin Smith salvaged a point for Consett in a dull encounter against Ashington at Woodhorn Lane.
The game remained goalless at half-time with little to enthuse about and the only chance came in the closing seconds when Consett’s Marc Costello somehow missed the target from close range sending his shot over the bar.
The Colliers took the lead on the hour. Ryan Donaldson was upended in the box by Ryan McKinnon and Josh Gilchrist blasted home from the spot.
