■ VALE spent most of a goalless game with Met Police on the front foot but were denied any breakthrough due to some wasteful finishing.
Though stretched at times the Met defence matched all that was thrown at them with keeper Liam Beach making a number of important saves.
Up front Met lone striker Jamal Sharpe ploughed a lone furrow but his pace was always a threat and he suffered the frustration of a goal disallowed for a marginal offside.
