IN A thrilling contest of two halves, Leek Town overcame Hebburn Town to earn three precious points and move further away from danger.
The Hornets started strongly and had their first major chance in the eighth minute.
Callum West found himself in a promising position, but his shot narrowly missed the target.
A penalty shout was turned down for a push on Amar Purewal before, on 43 minutes, goalkeeper Dino Visser made a crucial save to deny Purewal.
He followed it up with another quick reaction stop to keep out Callum West’s rebound...
