D’Mani’s the man for Macc

RUNAWAY leaders Macclesfield edged another step closer to the title with a narrow victory over Matlock Town.
D’Mani Mellor’s first half strike proved to be the winner as Robbie Savage’s side maintained their 23-point lead at the summit.
The former Manchester United youth was played through on 18 minutes after a good advantage from the referee to slot home his 18th goal in all competitions.
John Rooney came close on two separate occasions as Matlock keeper Adam Hayton made two smart saves to keep the score at one.
