■ VAUXHALL Motors kept up the pressure on league leaders Widnes as they defeated Newcastle.
They took the lead just six minutes before the break when Connor Rankin on the turn hit a low and hard strike into the corner of Joe Sinn’s goal.
The side from Ellesmere Port doubled their lead on the hour mark through Michael Burkey as he cut inside from the wing before curling a lovely shot into the corner of the goal.
