BLACKETT’S PAIR LIFTS MARINERS

PAUL BLACKETT grabbed a double as he helped South Shields to victory over basement club Farsley Celtic.
However, the North East side didn’t have it all their way as Farsley took the lead after 11 minutes through Joao Silva as he slammed the ball past Shields goalkeeper Kyle Seymour.
South Shields hit back on 31 minutes as Essa Janneh brought down Blackett as he went through on goal. Janneh was sent off for his troubles and Blackett stepped up to score the penalty.
