■ JACK Thompson scored the only goal of the game as Cambridge City edged past Redbridge.
Neither side really burst into life at kick-off, with both the Lillywhites and the Motormen sizing up their opponents in the opening stages of the fixture. Both managers would have been looking for their sides to do more in the final third at half-time and it was the hosts’ who looked the more promising after the interval.
