■JOE Smith’s early header was enough to give Bemerton Heath victory over Exmouth.
The visitors started well without creating any clear-cut chances before Bemmy’s first opening brought the only goal. A dangerous free-kick delivered by Brad Waters was met by the head of Smith to give the home side the lead after 18 minutes.
Both teams threatened in the second part of the first half and Patrick Jenkins came close with a 30yard strike which was tipped over.
