CANVEY Island kept an eight-point gap between themselves and the bottom four, as they shared a draw with Hendon.
In a first half of plenty of chances, the visitors saw the better of the early exchanges.
Good one-touch football on 17 minutes saw Darren Foxley drag a chance wide, before the same player launched a free-kick into the area on 27 minutes that was held by Matteo Salamon.
