■ GRIMSBY BOROUGH picked up a big three points in their bid to secure Step 4 football next season with a fully-deserved win at Consett.
They kicked off a point and a place behind their hosts, but looked sharper and more determined right from the start.
Borough taking the lead in the 22nd minute when left-back Luis Adlard slid the ball to Josh Venney, who poked it into the far corner.
The lead was then doubled in the 56th minute when Lewis Collins fired in from 25 yards.
